Five Harry Potter Videos That Will Make You Cry

Posted by Christina Cooper on October 14, 2011 at 11:15 AM

I'm not going to lie, I've been suffering from Post-Potter Deprecation for the past month.  Maybe it's being in the UK, or going to see the Hogwarts Express last weekend..  I think seeing things that I've dreamt about for almost half of my life (like platform 9-3/4), has really made me sentimental.  Take a look at five videos, some fan made, others about the flawless cast, that can always bring a tear to my eye.

The Last Days on Set

This might be one of the hardest to watch for me.  I remember this video came online a week or two before the final movie, and I just remember not being able to watch it without crying..  It's a lovely video that shows the cast and crew saying goodbye to various members of the cast on their last days'.  And the trio's hug at the end.. Just kill me..

End of an Era

Any Harry Potter fan can admit to listening to Wrock (Wizard Rock) at some point or another.  Some of it's cheesy, but this group, Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls, are really something special.  I like pretty much every song they've ever produced, but this one (End of an Era) is my favorite.  It took everything I was feeling about Harry Potter ending, and put it to music.  I'm not going to lie, this has been my go-to song whenever I get down about the end of Potter.

The Trio's Last Shot

Thank God this is only a minute long, because seeing those looks of sadness on the trio's faces is pretty hard to bear.   Watching this scene in the movie is a bit sadder, now that you know it was the last time they were on set together..

A Look Back At the Whole Journey

This video doesn't necessarily make me cry, it just makes me sad as a look back at Harry's journey.  While watching this video, I personally look back at my life, and remember where I was and who was with me, when I saw each movie for the first time.  Harry Potter was one of the best things that ever happened to my in my childhood, and I really hope that as I grow up, I don't lose everything that this series taught me.

The Final Premiere

This is a tough one to watch.  Seeing Rupert get emotional, Dan hide his tears, and Emma call Dan the perfect Harry is a lot to take in for Potter fans.  I'd always known that I was lucky to get to grow up, just as the trio did.  And I'd always hoped that Rupert, Dan, and Emma had loved Harry Potter as much as I did.  But after seeing Jo get really emotional over the trio (and the Big 7), you can see just how perfect these three were for their roles.  And obviously, you can see that they care about the experience, Jo, and the series just as much as we do.  But I think it's the closing line said by the Queen herself, "Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home."
