Deadline confirmed today that NBC's Wonder Woman would not be picked up for next season. It comes at no surprise. The controversies were almost daily. The show seemed to run into problems from the beginning. Most people didn't think Adrianne Palicki was right for the part, and then when the costume was first released, fans revolted. I honestly can't blame them. The costume was really bad in the beginning, but it was changed before filming began on the pilot. As much as I would have loved to see a female superhero on the small screen, I just don't think NBC's version of it would have done the character any justice. I'd much rather see the story become a movie.
Even though I am thankful that Wonder Woman didn't get picked up, I can't get over the fact 17th Precinct may not be picked up. As of the time this article was written, NBC has yet to say yes or no to the Ron D. Moore futuristic drama. Most online journalist are claiming that Precinct won't be picked up because NBC picked up Grimm, which is a cop drama, which is produced by Buffy and Angel alums! I talked to Tricia Helfer at WizardWorld a few weeks ago, and asked her what would happen if Precinct didn't get picked up. She said there was a possibility that Syfy might be able to broadcast it, just because NBC owns SyFy.
How do you guys feel about NBC's pick ups? Would you like to see 17th Precinct picked up?
